The exterior

The facade lines up three volumes capped with black metal roofing, linked by a covered porch on solid wood posts. The vertical pale wood siding meets a grey stone base, while black garage doors and window frames outline the openings. The pale gravel drive and low beds let the house stand out against the trees.

Volumes and light

Seen from the side, the house reveals its clean gables and tall black windows, placed to catch the morning sun and the view over the lake. Roof overhangs protect the wood walls, and the stone picks up the tones of the shore at ground level. A crisp whole, without ornament, where each material keeps its role.
